Community Support
Northeast Credit Union supports and is involved in a number of organizations and community activities. We focus our charitable giving and sponsorship monies on organizations that are based within the communities where we do business and serve communities where we have a presence.
Charitable Gifts
NECU gives priority consideration for charitable gifts to programs that:
- Encourage community-based services targeted to low- and moderate-income people.
- Promote financial education and literacy for everyone.
- Promote affordable housing.
- Encourage the development of innovative responses to basic human needs.
- Support community development initiatives that are catalysts for economically distressed areas.
Sponsorship and Community Activities
Sponsorship and Community Activities gifts are payments paid to for-profit or not-for-profit organizations for which NECU will receive promotional, entertainment and community relations value. As a sponsor of an event, NECU expects to achieve at least one of the following goals:
- Enhance NECU’s visibility in the community.
- Help position NECU as the source for financial education and literacy.
- Promote the arts, cultural or economic development.
- Entertain existing business partners or members.
- Introduce NECU staff to potential new members or business partners.
- Raise money for the benefit of non-profits in the communities we serve.
Application Procedure
NECU must receive a formal written proposal in the form of a cover letter containing the following components. The request will not be processed unless each of these items is submitted:
- A cover letter (or written proposal outline) summarizing the key points of the proposal/request including the dollar amount of the request. The organization name, contact name, address, phone number and email address should be clearly identified.
- A brief description of the event, its goals and objectives, and the benefits to NECU as a donor or sponsor.

It may take up to four weeks for requests to be reviewed. Please submit requests to:
