Online Security

An added layer of online security.

Northeast Credit Union has added a new layer of security to our CyberTel online banking service.

This added security will help to further instill trust knowing that you are actually logging on to Northeast Credit Union's online banking site and will ultimately help to further protect your personal financial information.

How it works:
All members who have a CyberTel online banking account will be asked to choose a Personal Image - known only to you. Each time you log on to CyberTel this Personal Image will appear for your verification. Once you validate that it is the Personal Image you have chosen, you can feel confident that you're logging onto Northeast Credit Union's CyberTel.

Takes only minutes to establish:
When you log on to your CyberTel account, you will be asked to:

1. Register a "username".
When prompted by the CyberTel system, define your "username". Your username can be 8 to 15 characters in length. It must start with a letter and can consist of only letters and numbers; special characters like "*" and "-" cannot be used.

For each Account Number you have, you will need to select a unique "Username".

2. Select a Personal Image.
Once you have successfully registered your username, you will then be asked to choose an eStamp (Personal Image) and corresponding Personal Phrase. For example, if you choose an image of a horse, your corresponding phrase may be "derby winner", or if you choose an image of a football, your corresponding phrase may be "Monday night".

Each time you log on to CyberTel, you will enter your "username" and then your eStamp (Personal Image) will be displayed. Upon verifying that the image presented to you is the one you have selected, you will then be asked to enter your Password. If you are presented with an image other than the one you selected, please contact Northeast Credit Union Member Service at 1-888-436-1847.

Note: Members will be prompted to select new challenge questions six months after first successfully selecting challenge questions and answers. Beginning June 1, 2008, this refresh of challenge questions and answers will be extended to 18 months.

Additional security:
In order to make your online banking experience as secure as possible, Northeast Credit Union has implemented a security feature that watches for uncharacteristic or unusual behavior involving your account. For example, a log on attempt from a computer you do not normally log on from. If anything out of the ordinary is detected, the system will ask you to verify your identity by posing one or more personal challenge questions.

The CyberTel system will prompt you to select and answer personal challenge questions.

Note: We will never ask you to answer the full list of security questions. If you are asked the full list, please report it to us.

For each challenge question box, click on the down arrow and select your question. In the box below the question, type in your answer. The answers are not case sensitive. If you are posed with these challenge questions, you will need to answer them correctly before you can move on.
